Wide Format Printing

Wide format printing, also known as large format printing, is a digital printing category encompassing prints between 18″ and 120″. Essentially, anything poster-sized or larger.

UPM can print on vinyl roll stock up to 63″ wide, roll paper up to 59″ wide, and directly on rigid substrates, such as foam core sheets, up to 4′ x 8′. The printable area available for each material varies depending on the width of the roll and the finishing options required.

Examples of Wide Format Printing

Wide format printers produce impressive banners and posters on a matte, glossy, and semi-gloss paper, but they can do much more. Printing on almost anything, including vinyl wall graphics, window clings, fabric, foam board, coated metal, PVC, and even wood or ceramics, is possible. Here are some examples of how you can utilize wide format printing:

  • Posters, banners, signage
  • Customized labels and magnets
  • Wall wraps, window clings, and vehicle wraps
  • Foam board, coroplast, acrylic, coated metal, and PVC
  • Retractable banners

Advantages of Wide Format Printing

  • Timeliness: Because they use the same techniques as digital printers, wide format printers are built for speed and on-demand large projects.
  • Large signage: The ability to produce high-quality images and crisp text make them imperative for graphic and photo-heavy posters, banners, and signage.
  • Efficiency: You can print exactly the amount you need, helping to reduce costs and unnecessary production of materials.
